Hi, I’m Eleanor!

She/Her

I became a therapist through my own journey of self-discovery paired with a genuine and enthusiastic curiosity about people and relationships.

My approach as a therapist is rooted in trauma-focused care, which prioritizes developing a safe, affirming, and judgement free space to help my clients cultivate self-compassion, develop self-awareness, and make meaningful changes in their lives. I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, relationship issues, substance use, identity exploration, and major life transitions. I view the therapeutic relationship as a conduit for growth, self-reflection, healing, and insight building. It's a safe place to look within yourself, process deep emotions or painful experiences, challenge yourself, and rejoice in your growth.

I draw from a variety of therapeutic frameworks and work with you to co-create goals that align with your strengths, needs, and personal values. Some of the modalities I use include CBT, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and ACT. I am also trained in ERP to support folks dealing with OCD and Brainspotting to aid in trauma processing.

You have the capacity to grow, heal, and learn to live more authentically. If you're ready to take the next step on your journey, I'd love to hear from you! Together, we can help you foster self-compassion and live a life that embodies your values.

Education & Professional Background

I earned my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Prior to that I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Science at The University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). I’ve been practicing as a therapist for the past 6 years working in both community mental health and private practice. I recently transitioned into my own solo practice and offer virtual therapy for adults living in DC, VA, and FL.

Who am I outside of therapy?

Outside of therapy, you’ll probably find me spending time with - first and foremost - my cats, and then my lovely spouse, friends, and family. I enjoy reading, moving my body, and being creative. I’m often exploring new restaurants, meandering around a thrift store, or going to a concert.
